My name is Jorge Valencia and I am the Owner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu of Washington Heights in NYC. At BJJ of Washington Heights, we’re here to help our community by teaching children as well as adults Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a mixture of Judo, Wrestling, and Gracie Jiu Jitsu (street defense). I’m currently a purple belt under the legendary Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro. In addition to training in the academy, I’m also an active competitor.

As a father, I can see the profoundly positive effect that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has on the development of younger generations, and how powerful of a tool it is for personal development.
